Derika's Writing Philosophy
Derika's Writing Philosophy
My philosophy for teaching writing is that all children should be able to write and write well. I think this can be accomplished when children are taught the basic necessary skills correctly and with never-ending practice as well. Thus, as a teacher, it is important that I ensure to have patience with every child I teach how to write, prepare myself well enough to cater to them, as I train and equip them to be excellent writers.
Therefore, I will set out to properly teach my students the difference between writing as a stage, as a process, and as a trait, as well as using them integradingly. When students fully understand these writing elements, they become meaningful writers who also think critically and read well. Hence, it will be maintained that students will write generally every day, practice writing as much as possible, and given many opportunities to share. When students are given feedback, they will be motivated to keep up the great work they have started of being good writers.
I love your philosophy. I can feel that once this is put into action within your classroom environment, students will definitely portray effective writing.
